We Are Open For Business
CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

To our valued customers, employees and suppliers,

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, first responders, local community workers, and governments who are on the front line working to contain the coronavirus and support community necessities. New information regarding COVID-19 is emerging constantly and new directives are being announced regularly by federal, state, and local officials. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of our customers, employees and our community.

We have been advised that contractors, including roofers, are exempt from the businesses ordered to close by New York State as roofing repair is considered an essential business. We are in the business of serving people and in the midst of this coronavirus outbreak it's important that we give you as much flexibility as possible when planning your roofing project. It is also important that we give you as much information as possible about the many variables that we are finding in our supply chain and, as well, the procedures we have implemented to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for our roofing practice.
Employees
We are fortunate to have long-term, outstanding employees and we thank them and their families for all they are doing during this challenging time. We encourage our employees to use sanitary protocols for handwashing and to disinfect all vehicles and tools. We have provided all of our crews with appropriate disinfectants and work gloves.
We have advised our crews of the importance of social distancing before, during and after all jobs. We have reviewed our roofing practices to ensure that we can be both safe and efficient in implementing these guidelines.
Customers
Thank you to our loyal customers for your support and understanding of the current situation. We are not only a family business for over 40 years, but a business of families that are also our customers. We have reviewed all of our points of personal contact with our customers during project estimates and interactions at the job site. In addition to sanitization protocols, we will be implementing social distancing practices which will ensure the safety of our customers and employees. All of our interactions will be done outside of your home at a safe distance so please be prepared. Our office manager will consult with you prior to any in-person estimates or repair to determine your preference for interaction, inspection, as well as invoicing and payments.
Supply Chain
We very much appreciate the relationships we have with our long-time suppliers. We are being advised of several disruptions to the supply chain (including rubber, asphalt shingles, and hardware such as nails, etc.) due to mandatory factory closings and distribution challenges across America as a result of the virus. We are also seeing price variations as supply-demand dynamics are changing rapidly. As a result, we have been contacting our customers during these weeks to determine your continued interest in the roofing project and, as well, communicate to you any supply chain challenges. We are attempting to “lock-in” both inventory and pricing with our suppliers to the extent possible for the benefit of our customers, however, that may require a customer deposit to ensure that we can perform the job as you have requested and in a timely manner. As well, we will do the best job possible in performing your roofing estimate and attempt to lock-in your costs as soon as possible to minimize any surprises at the time of installation.

The COVID-19 pandemic is creating unique and unforeseen challenges for each of us and our families. Our aim is to remain open to service the needs of our customers and our community, while ensuring safe practices for our employees and our clients. Thank you for your confidence in Phelps Brothers Roofing and we hope to exceed your expectations during our next project together.
